About Us
Learn what we value...
Modernizing education
In our digital era, we are all plugged into online networks that allow us to communicate with anyone we want to in a moments' notice. Digital communication is a form not directly taught but expected to be learned. Standard special education curriculums currently only teach people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) spoken and written forms of communication, neglecting the digital skills required for people with IDDs to effectively interact with others. Tech Buddies modernizes this curriculum and systematically progresses users to digital communication proficiency while supporting safe usage of technology. We seek to spread this message and create global changes to special education curriculums.
Supporting people with IDD
Tech Buddies is committed to supporting the IDD population in any way possible. This is why we personally contributed around $6,000 to the international non-profit Best Buddies that helps people with IDD get jobs and lifestyle support. Tech Buddies was a sponsor for their Champion of the Year Gala, which raised over $50,000. As we continue to grow, we commit to continuously support other organizations working to improve the lives of people with IDD.
Upcoming Community Projects
Spreading the word...
In line with our goal to modernize the education system, our team is currently working on publishing an scientific article that illustrates the needs of people with IDDs and the current state of communication education. By publishing our work, we hope to create large-scale change where more companies and organizations incorporate digital communication education in their curriculums. If you are interested in submitting a comment for the study, please fill out the google form linked here.
